Wowzers!!

This week marks a whopping 7 years since the release of Cuphead.

From DLC to a show on TV, we could never have imagined the journey that awaited our plucky trio of porcelain pals. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for embracing our little animated adventure. We simply would not be here without the love & support of our amazing Cuphead community.

To celebrate seven super years of Cuphead, we also wanted to do a little something special and share some brand new behind the scenes footage with everyone! It’s no exaggeration to say that the world of the Inkwell Isles would not be what it is without the superlative sounds of composer Krisofter Maddigan’s score, and the unbelievable talents of all the singers and musicians who contributed to the game’s soundtrack.

So today, we’re pulling back the curtain on something particularly special – the recording session for the tune from climactic final battle of The Delicious Last Course, “Baking the Wondertart.” This piece, heavily inspired by Final Fantasy VI’s iconic “Dancing Mad” by legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu, is by far the most complex song on either of our soundtracks. We hope you enjoy this front row seat to the work of Kristofer Maddigan and the performers from the Inkwell Isles Philharmonic Orchestra!

And for those music aficionados craving another taste of the Wondertart, we have made the full performance sheet music of the tune available for free download at https://cupheadnotes.com!

It’s impossible to adequately summarize our feelings during a week like this. The launch of Cuphead, and your wholehearted support for it, has changed our lives. What we can say is that we’re heads-down working on crafting our next big adventure, and can’t wait to share more when the time is right.

With all our appreciation,
Your Swell Pals at Studio MDHR
