It’s been such a long time from our last real game update, it’s almost maddening. We apologize! You may have asked, “What’s going on?” and even if you aren’t asking that – we’re going to tell you anyways!
We are super excited to announce a new addition to the Cuphead team!
Smo is an animator from Brooklyn, NY! He’s animated for Superjail, Metalocalypse and Conan O’Brien to name a few. A huge fan of traditional animation, especially the weird 1930’s cartoons to come out of New York by the likes of Fleischer and Van Beuren Studios – it was even the focus of his thesis film in college! He’s totally stoked to help work on Cuphead! …and yes, Smo will be creating the same type of animation: all hand drawn on a light table.
Now that our team has two animators, you can be sure that we will be cramming as much hand drawn animation as possible (while speeding up the time it will take to create it all).
